Another evening drive.

Mike and I got the steel beam set into place and the freezer hooked up and running. So this evening we took the dogs on a drive, their favorite way to spend the evening after they sleep all day. Snapped some pictures......
Jet likes his head out the window but Spot is more interested in what is coming up.

Saw some antelope.

  And some deer....

You can't go spotting in Montana. But there really isn't any need to.

Another amazing day

Went down to the river this morning and saw the pair in the nest.

Then went further down stream and caught a glimpse of the immature one.

On the way back out the road we saw the bees having a feast.
Then we went for a drive and saw one of the eagles flying over the river by  the walking bridge down town. I didn't get the camera around soon enough and mike kept driving back and forth and I didn't get the shot until he was too far downstream.
We went back down along the river and saw where he went.
Watched him go back up to the nest with his loot but can't make out what he had.

We took a drive north and took some pictures of the mountains and the sky was cloudy but it was beautiful.

Got a picture

I have many times been caught without my camera. Couple weeks ago I missed a shot of a mountain lion. Also missed a shot of whitetails in our front yard because I didn't look out my bedroom window. Last week on the way to Great Falls I missed a shot of an eagle. Last night I missed a shot of an immature Bald Eagle down by the river. and tonight I took my camera with and the battery was almost dead. But this is what we saw.....
Kill Deer that built their nests on an island in the river.

A hawk flying overhead.

A nest on electric wires and By George what is in the nest?????

Yep I finally got a picture of an eagle.... Then my battery went dead!!!!!
Which is why the camera wouldn't focus correctly. :(

I put in my order for a new camera for Christmas. This camera worked good for what I needed it for but these wide open spaces begs for a higher quality camera.

Working Cattle

We were invited to a ranch to help with the vaccination of calves. We said that we would bring a cake for dessert. Here are some pictures from the day.

Running the cows into the pens. This was after and hour and a half of rounding them up from various pastures. Mike was on the four wheeler, 3 were on horses and I was in the pick up with Jenny and sometime on foot chasing the cattle up from the coulee  and there was another pickup.

Getting them ready to sort out.

The Cake.
Now really, you didn't think I would just take a plain ole cake? Did you?

A drive thru the fields.

Tonight we went out to a ranch where Mike is going to help them bring in the cattle for medication on Saturday. We went for a ride thru the fields and I got to take some pictures.
Some mule deer in the fields.
Cattle coming up from the river in the evening. Look at all the dust they are kicking up.

Couldn't chose which picture I liked best.
Sun set from down in the valley close to the river. The one thing I can't share with you is the smell. The fresh air touched with sage.
 The moon rise.
On the shop: The sink is ready to go in and the floor is ready to be painted but the leveler needs to dry some more. The office is painted and the coolers and freezer will be here on Tuesday. FINALLY!!!!!

The fields and an old homestead.

Saturday and Sunday Mike went to help a rancher we met to bring his hay in from the field.
Sunday morning I went along and took some pictures. There is no way to capture the wide open spaces in a picture, but I try.....

This is an abandoned homestead close to the field. If these walls could talk......

We stopped along the creek on the way back out.
This is looking down into the water from the bridge. So clear you can see the stones in the bottom at about 2 feet deep.

This little guy was hopping along the road. He looks big in the picture but he is only about an inch long.
