Today Mike and I went to a place with a lot of history. There is an old railroad tunnel east of town and it runs through the ridge that Lewis and Clark camped on. We talked to the folks that own it and they invited us out to take a look. Got some more pics.
Hey, I found the light at the end of the tunnel.
You can see the imprints of the boards that supported the concrete.
Amazing view coming out of the tunnel.
There is just something about a palomino in a field......
We had our open house today. Had about 50-60 people stop by. We had samples of summer sausage, trail bologna, texas bologna, smoked sausage and beef kielbasa. Also served hamburgers, hot dogs and macaroni salad. Had a lot of complements. :)
These were delivered just before we opened the doors.
They are from our neighbors, our bank and the chamber of commerce. I never expected this.
We made a lot of good contacts and a lot of folks asking a lot of questions. In all I would call it a success.
Of course when everyone left the dogs were VERY happy to see us. They wanted to get going for their evening ride.
Jet had do problem telling us they were ready to go.
And no that is not trash on the floor, those are jet's toys. He thinks every bottle is his own personal play thing. LOL
The trees by the river are changing color and are so pretty.
We are official! We passed our inspection and got our licence on Wednesday. Hung the first beef in the cooler on Thursday. Worked on some changes to our set up today. Some things needed the bugs worked out of them, but I think we have it now. LOL!!
Now we are having an open house on next Saturday. Wish us luck!
We worked on the shop for a while then went for a drive. Mike wanted to go to the Bear Paw Mountains so we went. Also needed to see where the train station is in Havre in case we need to pick anybody up there. Here are some pics from our little drive.
The next few days will be very stressful. I appreciate you all keeping us in your thoughts and prayers.
